About the Project
El Paso, Huerfano, Kiowa, Las Animas, Pueblo and Prowers Counties — The Colorado Department of Transportation and contract partner CC Enterprises of Grand Junction will begin a guardrail replacement project in Southeast Colorado. The project is scheduled start on March 20. Guardrail replacements will take place at 13 different locations:
- Colorado Springs on US 24 from MP 303.3 to MP 303.6
- Colorado Springs/Fountain on CO 85 from MP 130.8 to MP 137
- South of Colorado Springs on I-25 from MP 119.7 to MP 126.6
- Pueblo on I-25 from MP 96 to MP 99.4
- Pueblo on CO 45 from MP 1 to MP 1.2
- Pueblo West on US 50 from MP 306.4 to MP 308.3
- Huerfano County south of Walsenburg on I-25 at MP 47
- Las Animas County north of Trinidad on I-25 from MP 33 to MP 38.7
- South of Penrose on CO 115 at MP 12.3
- Raton Pass on I-25 from MP 3.7 to MP 7.5
- West of Kim on US 160 from MP 385.5 to MP 397.5
- East of Eads on US 287 from MP 110 to MP 110.5
- West of Eads on CO 96 from MP 151.2 to MP 166
Project Benefits
- Crews will install new end terminals designed to meet new safety requirements.
Work Schedule & Traffic Impacts
- One-lane alternating traffic Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Single lane closures during nighttime work on I-25 and US 50 around Pueblo and Colorado Springs Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
