ADA Ramp Upgrades in the Pueblo Metro Area
About the Project
Late September, 2020, the Colorado Department of Transportation will begin work on ADA curb ramp improvements with the installation of ADA compliant curb ramps at various locations along Colorado Highway 45, CO 47, CO 96, and CO 78 throughout Pueblo.
This project is a part of CDOT’s 2017, Curb Ramp Accessibility Initiative to bring all curb ramps in alignment with the ADA and PROWAG standards over the next five years.
Curb ramps are required to be in place at every intersection where and accessible route crosses a curb to allow access to crosswalks for people with disabilities. Once these ramps are in place, their maintenance is critical to safely enable accessibility.
