I-70 Sign Structure Replacement Project

Project completed

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation, along with Kramer North America have completed the removal and replacement of sign structures along I-70 and US 6.

The first phase of the project began at the US 6 ramp to I-25 over the South Platte River where the team removed a damaged sign structure. The next phase removed three overhead sign structures and installed five new cantilever overhead sign structures on eastbound I-70 between Kipling St. & Wadsworth Boulevard. Work also included replacing overhead and ground-mounted sign panels between the Wadsworth Boulevard and I-25 interchanges along I-70.

The sign structures and signs replaced were in poor condition and upgraded to meet current federal highway standards. The project improves visibility of signs with new reflective material and will help motorists navigate the interstate safely.
