I-70 Rockfall Mitigation E. of Dumont
Project completed
About the Project:
This rockfall mitigation work will help stabilize the slope where a 2019 rockslide the day after Thanksgiving prompted an emergency closure of I-70. Rock scaling work done immediately after this slide and rock blasting in mid-December 2019 helped stabilize the slope by removing loose material.
This follow-up work will allow crews to install the anchor bolts and cover the slope with rockfall mesh to help prevent rocks from falling onto I-70 below.
