I-70 Median Cable Rail in Eagle County
About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation, in collaboration with R.L Wadsworth Construction announces the completion of the I-70 median cable rail and guardrail project. The project is part of CDOT’s statewide 10-year plan to improve highways across Colorado. Safety was improved on this busy stretch of the interstate by adding median cable barrier east of Vail from MP 182 to 183. The cable acts as a buffer to prevent the most dangerous types of vehicle accidents. It prevents a vehicle from crossing the center median into the opposing lane of traffic. To prevent vehicles from veering off the interstate, one mile of guardrail was installed east of Edwards, from MP 159 to 160. The project was completed with environment seeding and median grading.
