I-70 Median Cable Rail in Eagle County
Project Complete!
The Colorado Department of Transportation, in collaboration with R.L Wadsworth Construction announces the completion of the I-70 median cable rail and guardrail project. The project is part of CDOT’s statewide 10-year plan to improve highways across Colorado. Safety was improved on this busy stretch of the interstate by adding median cable barrier east of Vail from MP 182-183. The cable acts as a buffer to prevent the most dangerous types of vehicle accidents. It prevents a vehicle from crossing the center median into the opposing lane of traffic. To prevent vehicles from veering off the interstate, 1-mile of guardrail was installed east of Edwards, from MP 159-160. The project was completed with environment seeding and median grading.
