I-70 Truck Parking Expansion Near Glenwood Springs

For this project, crews expanded the truck parking lot off I-70 and mile point 107.5 (Tibbets Point) to increase the available parking spaces. This helped to reduce congestion and backups in nearby Glenwood Springs by providing emergency access during accidents, rockfalls, avalanches and other events.

Work included:

  • removing the existing pavement;
  • expanding the parking area;
  • regrading and repaving with concrete; and
  • guardrail and embankment improvements.

Crews also installed restrooms at the parking area.
