About the Project
On April 11, 2022, the Colorado Department of Transportation began the I-70 Floyd Hill to Chief Hosa Repaving project. Work on this project will improve driving conditions and safety along this 6.4-mile stretch of I-70 through asphalt repaving, guardrail replacement, culvert cleaning, signage, and striping.
The project is expected to be completed in May 2023.

Work Schedule
- Daytime hours: eastbound closures will take place between 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. and westbound closures will take place between 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Nighttime hours: eastbound closures will take place between 7 p.m. - 6 a.m. and westbound closures will take place between 6 p.m. - 6 a.m.
Traffic Impacts
Motorists should expect:
- East and westbound single and double lane closures during working hours.
- Full overnight ramp closures during on- and off-ramp paving and smoothness grinding operations at the following exits:
- Beaver Brook/Floyd Hill (Exit 248)
- El Rancho (Exit 251)
- Chief Hosa (Exit 253)
