I-70 Beavertail Tunnel Lighting Replacement

Overview

From Monday, April 24 to Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, crews completed lighting work in the Beavertail Tunnel on Interstate 70 in Mesa County, east of Palisade. Work included:

• repairs to the eastbound service road (including surgical repairs, hot mix asphalt overlay and setting temporary barriers);
• structural coating of the tunnel liner;
• concrete patching;
• structural repair; and
• adding luminaire lighting—an LED light that will be permanently installed on the top circumference of the tunnel.
