About the Project
Crews have completed the installation and replacement of about 2,500 "Wrong Way" signs, and has updated highway markings at 77 on-ramps and off-ramps at I-25 across Las Animas, Huerfano, Pueblo and El Paso counties in Southeast Colorado. This work will ultimately help prevent crashes and fatalities caused by motorists accessing the interstate from the wrong direction.
Travel Impacts
- Work on I-25 started in January at the Colorado/New Mexico state line and will continue north, to just north of the line dividing El Paso and Douglas counties (mile points 140-154).
- On US 24, work began in El Paso County at MP 303.4 and will continue east to MP 306.
- Expect occasional single-lane and shoulder closures in both directions.
