About the Project
This completed, two-phase project consisted of widening a section of I-25 to mitigate bottlenecks during peak periods, and to manage the flow of merging traffic onto southbound Interstate 25.
From March to June 2020, crews built an auxiliary lane along southbound I-25 between I-76 and I-70. Work included:
- constructing new roadway shoulder
- adding dowel bars into existing concrete pavement,
- signage and striping
From June to mid-September, the project was on hold while ramp metering equipment was being procured for the second phase of the project.
Since September 21, electrical crews worked to construct and install ramp metering equipment at the 58th Avenue on ramp to southbound I-25. This phase is now complete.
