Federal Boulevard Median Project, 52nd to 67th

Project Overview

In summer 2015, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) completed a $2 million safety improvement project on Federal Boulevard (US 287) between 52^nd and 67^th Avenues. The project included construction of median islands with street lighting and landscaped planters; pedestrian countdown signals at 67^th Avenue; new traffic signal heads at 54^th, 56^th and 67^th Avenues; new crosswalks at 64^th Avenue; and lighting under the Federal Boulevard bridge illuminating the Clear Creek Trail north of 60^th Avenue. 

The project is intended to improve safety by consolidating left-turn movements to and from Federal Avenue. Special provisions have been made for emergency access.
