Denver Metro Area Retaining Wall and Roadway Repairs

About the Project:

The Colorado Department of Transportation, with Hamilton Construction Company, will begin repairs on eleven retaining and roadway wall structures around the Denver Metro area in Jefferson, Douglas, and Arapahoe counties. Crews will repair walls on Interstate 25 at MP 199, MP 213, MP 214, on Interstate 70 at MP 274, on US Highway 6 at MP 271, on US Highway 285 at MP 233, MP 237, and on Colorado Highway 83 at MP 70. These repairs are expected to conclude in Winter, 2021. During this time, no major roadway impacts are anticipated, but minor traffic delays may occur, as lane closures, along with reduced speed limits, may be necessary to provide a safe work zone.

Project Benefits

  • At each location, crews will be rebuilding portions of the present structures which includes reinforced steel installation, joint sealing, and concrete patching work on the walls’ surface.
  • The walls will be cleaned and a concrete sealer will be applied to protect the surface. The improvements will extend the life of the walls and the aesthetic values in the areas.
