Colorado Transportation Management Center Situational Awareness System

Project complete

Overview

Through this project, CDOT will develop and implement an incident response platform—which will include defined workflows, communication protocols and a common operating picture available for all stakeholders.

The project will have a phased approach, with the first area of focus being on the I-70 Mountain Corridor. Crews will expand to other areas statewide in future phases.

The project is scheduled to run through June 2020.

The project will:

  • Create a Situational Awareness System (SAS) that helps the Colorado Transportation Management Center (CTMC) coordinate incident management and use resources across multiple agencies.
  • Allow the SAS to receive, track, retrieve and coordinate incident data to reduce/improve response times.
  • Supplement traveler information with additional information in real time, from multiple different systems.
