About the Project
On April 19, motorists can expect lane closures along Colfax Avenue as the Colorado Department of Transportation and Brannan Sand and Gravel will begin work on the Colfax Avenue (U.S. Highway 40) Resurfacing Project between Sable Boulevard and Peoria Street. Work on this project will improve driving conditions and safety along this 1.75-mile stretch of Colfax Avenue, including pavement resurfacing, curb ramp improvements for ADA compliance, and intersection improvements at Colfax and Peoria. The resurfacing will be completed through mill and paving, which involves removing a 2 to 2.5-inch layer of existing asphalt and putting new asphalt on top of the milled surface.
