CO 96/US 50 Southeast Colorado Signal Replacement

About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation and contract partner Arrow Electric will begin a signal replacement project. New signals will
be installed at the following locations:
- CO 96/Thatcher Ave. and Prairie Ave. in Pueblo with the project limits from Mile Point 53.6 to MP 53.9.
- US 50 and Conley Rd. in La Junta with the project limits from MP
376.5 to MP 376.9.
Work will include the removal and installation of traffic signal equipment, poles, mast arms, and vehicle detection upgrades at these two intersection. Additional work includes removing and installing curb, gutter, and American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps. The new ramps will be in compliance with the Public Right of Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) requirements.
Work Schedule & Traffic Impacts
- The project has a start date of October 18, 2021 with an anticipated completion date of March 2022.
- Traffic impacts on CO 96/Thatcher Ave. and Prairie Ave. will consists of single lane closures.
- Hours of operation are: Eastbound Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Westbound Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Traffic impacts on US 50 and Conley Rd. will consist of single lane closures and speed limit reduction to 55 mph.
- Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Traffic impacts on CO 45/Pueblo Blvd. and St. Claire Ave. will consist of right turn lane closures. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
