CO 52 & CO 59 Timber Bridge Preservation
About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin construction on the Timber Bridge preservation project in Weld county near Hudson and Keenesburg on March 27. A full road closure on CO 52 will be in effect from March 27 - April 2. Myers and Sons has been selected for the project, with work expected to be completed in April.
This bridge maintenance project is located on Colorado Highway 52 south of Keenesburg at Mile Point 32.8. The bridge preservation will begin March 27 and work will include complete deck removal, installation of sister beams, and placing a new concrete deck and paving over it. These improvements will provide a safer and more secure bridge for traffic to utilize.
A full closure of CO 52 is required from March 27 after 10 p.m. through April 2 at 4 a.m.The closure will remain in place 24 hours a day during the closure period. Until the detour opens, through traffic will need to use the following county roads to access areas north, south, and east of the closure points:
- Areas northeast of the bridge - CR 51
- Areas south of the bridge - CR 10
- Areas east of the bridge - CR 53
