CO 12 and CO 194 Bridge Preventative Maintenance

About the Project:

In late November, crews will begin bridge repairs at three locations along CO 12 and CO 194 in Bent, Las Animas and Otero counties. The project will protect the integrity of bridges by installing materials to absorb the force of the flowing water, thus increasing the lifespan of the structures, and improving their resistance to flood damage and erosion.

Project Locations

• CO 12 M.P. 53.23- Between Weston and Segondo
• CO 194A M.P. 8.93- Between La Junta and Las Animas
• CO 194A M.P. 10.71- Between La Junta and Las Animas

Work Schedule

• Work is scheduled to begin November 29 and finish in March 2022.
• Normal working hours will be 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Traffic Impacts

• Single lane closures and full closures may be in place while crews conduct maintenance work.
• Please use the detour signs to navigate around the areas when full closures are in effect.
• Slowdowns and delays are expected.
• Please drive safely around the work area when crews are present.
