About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Tony J. Beltramo & Sons, will be moving forward with a drainage improvement project on CO Highway 115 and CO Highway 67 in downtown Florence. Work will begin May 19 and continue through November 2021.The drainage improvements will take place on CO 115 between MP 8.7 and MP 9.2, and on CO 67 from MP 11.002 to MP 11.047.
The project will begin by working on the storm drain, then will move to asphalt removal and paving. Crews will also replace existing sidewalks, new curb and gutter, and signing throughout the project. The project will greatly enhance the safety and functionality of the roadway and sidewalks.
Work Schedule
● Working hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Traffic Impacts
Beginning May 19, motorists will encounter road work on CO 115 and CO 67. Traffic impacts include:
- Various lane, shoulder, and sidewalk closures will take place where work zones exist.
- When pouring concrete, sidewalks are likely to be closed overnight or over weekends to allow the concrete to set up.
- Access to all businesses will be maintained, but may be temporarily altered.
- Traffic fines will be doubled in the work zone.
- Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zones, drive with caution, allow extra space between vehicles, and give themselves extra travel time.
