CO 88/Arapahoe Road over Cherry Creek

Overview

In November 2013, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) began a bridge reconstruction project on Colorado Highway (CO) 88 over Cherry Creek in Arapahoe County. The project extended from east of South Jordan Road to South Chambers Way. Crews replaced the existing bridge, originally built in 1959, with a structure that meets current standards.

In addition, there was construction on the Cherry Creek Trail. The trail was extend under Arapahoe Road, giving pedestrians and cyclists improved connectivity throughout the trail system.

SEMA Construction, Inc. of Centennial, Colorado, was the contractor for this $18 million project, which was completed at the end of July 2015.
