CO 60 & CR 40 Intersection Widening

About the Project

In January 2019, crews on this project began improvements at the intersection of CO 60 and Weld County Road 40. This project in Weld county entailed the widening at this intersection to improve the safety of the corridor. Northbound CO 60 will add a left turn lane. The existing CBC minor structure in Farmer's Independent Ditch was extended on the existing channel alignment. The project was completed with a 2 inch HMA overlay.

Specific improvements included:

• adding a deceleration right turn lane and bubble left turn lane on Southbound CO 60
• adding a left turn lane on northbound CO 60
• extending the structure at Farmer's Independent Ditch onto the existing channel alignment
• completing the project with a 2 inch HMA overlay
