CO 133 Resurfacing in Delta and Gunnison Counties

About the Project

Crews on this project will repave more than 12 miles of Colorado Highway 133 within Delta and Gunnison counties. Work begins about 12 miles east of Hotchkiss and extends to Kebler Pass at Gunnison County Road 12.

Other work includes:

  • resurfacing the road using a two-step asphalt recycling and overlay process
  • improving shoulders and guardrail
  • repairing five bridges within the project zone

  • Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Timeline: April to October 2018

Traffic Impacts

  • Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions of CO 133, alternating intermittently
  • Expect delays of 15 to 20 minutes, with traffic guided by flaggers and pilot cars
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph through the work zone
  • Traffic fines in the construction zone will be doubled
