Arapahoe Road and Jordan Road Intersection Reconstruction Completed in 15 Days

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Hamon Contractors completed the major elements of an aggressively scheduled full intersection reconstruction at Arapahoe Road (SH 88) and Jordan Road in 15 days from July 26th This intersection reconstruction had a schedule that required a team effort between CDOT, our contractor (Hamon Contractors), adjacent communities and businesses, and even you, the motorist travelling through the project. Major restrictions to traffic movements were used to increase the work area and speed the reconstruction. The restrictions included no left turns and no through traffic on Jordan, both of which caused motorists to have to detour from their usual routes.

Details About the Intersection Reconstruction:

Work consisted of replacement of the existing asphalt pavement with a more durable concrete intersection that is expected to last three times as long. The work allowed for adding a double left turn from westbound Arapahoe Road onto southbound Jordan Road. The coming weeks will see completion of work at this intersection including new islands, improved pedestrian and ADA compliance features, and new traffic signal poles.
