Job Fair January 22, 2014

It will be a day to make connections and introductions. The prime contractor for the US 6 Bridges Design-Build Project, Edward Kraemer and Sons along with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and several subcontractors working on the project, will be available to meet with job seekers. The Job Fair will be held Jan. 22, 2014 from 2-7 p.m. at the St. Cajetan’s Community Center located just behind the church main parking lot at 4335 W. Byers Pl. St. Cajetan’s is an ADA accessible facility and is serviced by major bus routes.

Firms participating in this Job Fair are construction related and are involved in the reconstruction of US 6. A sampling of the participating firms include; Edward Kraemer and Sons, SEMA Construction, Villalobos Concrete, Sturgeon Electric, CDOT and the City and County of Denver. Construction is scheduled to begin in February of 2014.

If roadway construction work is what you’re looking for, please come prepared with resume, work history, references and personal information needed to complete job applications. Bilingual assistance will be available. The Denver Workforce Center will be available to assist with additional job placement needs.

The US 6 Bridges Design-Build Project involves improvements along 6th Avenue from approximately Knox Court on the west through the BNSF railroad track bridge just east of I-25.  The project, which was part of the I-25 Valley Highway Final Environmental Impact Statement completed in 2006, includes building new bridges over Bryant Street, the South Platte River, BNSF railroad tracks, I-25, and over US 6 at Federal Boulevard and Knox Court, as well as improvements to Barnum Parks and a realigned northbound off-ramp from northbound I-25 to westbound US 6. Substantial project completion is planned for August 2015.
