1st Avenue & Wadsworth Boulevard Signal Replacement
Project Facts
- Cost: $1 Million
- Contractor: Lumin8 Transportation Technologies
- Timeline: June 2021 to March 2022
- Location: At the intersection of Wadsworth Boulevard and 1st Avenue in Jefferson County
About the Project
In June of 2021, the Colorado Department of Transportation began work to replace the traffic signals at the intersection of Wadsworth Boulevard and 1st Avenue. The project includes the removal and installation of four signal poles, mast arms, controller cabinets, fiber infrastructure, cameras and other infrastructure. This will ultimately improve traffic flow, efficiency and safety for both pedestrians and vehicles at this intersection. In particular, the new signals with protected left turn movements are expected to reduce certain types of crashes, most notably, right-angle (broadside) collisions.
Project Schedule
- As of February 2022, the project is wrapping up with punch list work remaining into March of 2022, weather dependent.
