Join us for a powerful conversation about how to take action today to prevent a tragedy in your community. Hear from a parent who advocates for Safe Routes to School in honor of his son, and an emergency medical doctor who lends her voice, and heart, to the movement. Together, they are creating meaningful change in Littleton, Colorado, and working to ensure that all children are safe on our roadways. Their story will inspire you to connect with new partners, implement practical changes that have an immediate impact, and build a culture of child safety that radiates from the community.
We are pleased to offer a FREE, hands-on two-part workshop all about community engagement– the successes, the struggles, and everything in between. Join us for strategies, tips, and tools for engaging communities in Safe Routes projects. Funded by Colorado Department of Transportation and hosted by Safe Routes Partnership, the workshop includes:
- An overview of the Working Together to Create Meaningful Change community engagement guide
- A walk audit training centered on community engagement
- Success stories from across Colorado
- Strategies for engaging high school students
Strategies for engagement in rural communities - Small group activities and breakout discussions
- Crowdsourcing solutions to engagement challenges in your community
Whether you are looking to refresh your engagement toolbox, or build new connections in your community, this workshop is for you. Prospective applicants for our upcoming Fiscal Year 2027 grant cycle, please note that Community Engagement is a key component of our grant application. This is a fantastic opportunity to get a jump start! Spaces are limited, but first priority will be given to communities in Colorado. Registrants, please plan on attending both sessions. Register today to reserve your spot!
