RAMP Bridge Preventative Maintenance (BPM)

CDOT has developed the Bridge Preventative Maintenance (BPM) Program to extend the service life of bridges and other major structures that the state maintains.

For each CDOT region, we establish and maintain four- to five-year Structure Asset Management Plans, which list the planned projects and eligible structures that will receive structural preservation/preventative maintenance, repair and rehabilitation. The program uses these plans to prioritize and coordinate structural work for all state BPM, bridge repair and surface treatment.

Bridge Preventative Maintenance and Repair Scope of Work

The primary scope of work of the BPM-eligible structures includes repair or replacement of bridge joints identified as damaged or leaking, and sealing bridge decks by installing waterproofing membrane or thin-bonded overlay. These projects will include deck rehabilitation before sealing bridge decks, and may include other structural repairs, preventative maintenance or safety-improvement work.
