March 11, 2025 - Southwestern Colorado - Expect a full day of slower speeds and lane closures west of Three Springs

Durango — On March 13, the Colorado Department of Transportation will perform survey work in the center median of US Highway 160 between Three Springs and Home Depot. Motorists traveling west of the US 160 and US 550 Grandview Interchange should anticipate congestion and slower speeds between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Motorists should be prepared for lane shifts and lane closures in both directions. Crews will attempt to keep traffic moving through the work zone however, significant congestion can be expected due to the limited lanes available. Work is weather dependent.

Traffic Impacts

Operations will take place on Thursday, March 13. Daytime work hours will range from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Motorists should expect slower speeds, lane shifts and delays
  • Travelers should allow themselves extra travel time
  • A speed reduction will be enforced through the work zone
  • Motorists are urged to watch for workers and their equipment, slow down and drive with extreme caution

  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
