Jan. 24, 2025 - Southeastern Colorado - Work on bridge over Arkansas River will take place Jan. 28

Fremont County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will perform bridge maintenance work on Colorado Highway 115 over the Arkansas River (mile point 11.43) on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The work zone will be reduced to one lane with flaggers alternating traffic between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. The traveling public can expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes are encouraged.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, motorists will encounter bridge maintenance work on CO 115 at MP 11.43 over the Arkansas River. Traffic impacts will include:

  • Working hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
  • Flaggers will alternate traffic in the single open lane through the work zone. Traffic delays up to 15 minutes should be expected.
  • Motorists should slow down as they approach the work zones, drive with caution, allow extra space between vehicles and give themselves extra travel time.

  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.

  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
