Week-long CO 145 culvert cleaning operations begin April 14

April 11, 2025 - Southwestern Colorado - Plan for brief delays and alternating traffic between Norwood and Telluride

San Miguel County — Next week, the Colorado Department of Transportation will complete a week-long culvert cleaning operation on Colorado Highway 145, approximately three miles east of Norwood. Operations will take place Monday through Friday on Norwood Hill (Mile Points 96 to 98). Motorists should plan for up to 10-minute delays, flaggers and one-lane alternating traffic between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

Crews will work swiftly to complete routine maintenance operations however, work is weather permitting.

Traffic Impacts

Beginning Monday, April 14, daytime work hours range from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic impacts include:

  • Motorists should plan for up to 10-minute delays and should allow for extra travel time
  • Expect one-lane alternating traffic guided by signs, cones and flagging personnel
  • Drivers should slow down and use extreme caution when approaching and driving through the work zone
  • A speed reduction of 40 MPH will be enforced through the work zone
