CDOT hosts community open house to share information about safety improvements on CO 45 / Pueblo Boulevard in Pueblo

Pueblo County — The Colorado Department of Transportation invites community members and business owners to learn more about the CO Highway 45 / Pueblo Boulevard Safety Improvements Project in Pueblo. The project focuses on improving safety and operations along the CO 45 / Pueblo Boulevard corridor. With traffic projected to increase, the study emphasizes efficient traffic flow, enhanced accessibility, community collaboration, sustainability and safety improvements.
The open house will provide stakeholders with information about the study and proposed safety improvements to CO 45 / Pueblo Boulevard from Palmer Avenue to Avis Avenue and Vinewood Lane to Goodnight Avenue in the City of Pueblo. CDOT team members will be available to answer questions.

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.
- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
