CDOT Encourages Motorists to Contact Customer Service with Highway Concerns

Travel Advisory

April 11, 2025 - Colorado - For the most timely and efficient response to a concern on a highway in Colorado, please contact the CDOT Customer Service team directly, rather than calling their local municipality, town or city.

Statewide — The Colorado Department of Transportation works to ensure that Colorado has a safe and efficient highway system for all motorists. From plowing snow in the winter to maintaining thousands of miles of highways and bridges, CDOT crews are committed to keeping the state moving.

CDOT is responsible for maintaining over 23,000 lane miles of highways and 3,447 bridges across the state. This includes all interstates, U.S. highways and state highways, even when they pass through local communities and business corridors. However, local and residential streets are maintained by cities and counties—not CDOT. Motorists often assume that CDOT maintains all roads, but understanding these distinctions helps ensure concerns are reported to the right entity.

The CDOT Customer Service Department is here to help!
