US 550 closed north of Ridgway on Tuesday afternoon due to a crash

October 15, 2024 - Southwestern Colorado - Detour in place via Highway 62 and County Road 24

Ouray County - The Colorado Department of Transportation closed US Highway 550 in Ridgway (Mile Points 104 to 105) at approximately 2:15 p.m. on October 15. The full closure is necessary to allow for emergency operations and investigations of a multi-vehicle crash. Motorists are warned that the closure could last several hours and there is no estimated time of re-opening.

Motorists traveling between Ridgway and Montrose should use the alternate north-south route of Colorado Highway 62 and County Road 24 between Ridgway and Dallas. The most current opening times will be updated on www.COtrip.org.

  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
