US 160 closed west of Durango Wednesday afternoon due to a crash
Travel Advisory
La Plata and Montezuma Counties — The Colorado Department of Transportation closed US Highway 160, three miles west of Durango (Mile Point 77) at approximately 3:10 p.m. on October 23. The full closure is necessary to allow for emergency operations and investigations of a multi-vehicle crash. Motorists are warned that the closure could last into the evening hours and there is no estimated time of re-opening.
Motorists traveling between Durango and Cortez should use the alternate east-west route of Colorado Highway 140 and County Road 141 between Hesperus and Durango. Durango West 1 and 2 residents are encouraged to take the southerly detour to Hesperus, entering the subdivisions from the west. The most current opening times will be updated on www.COtrip.org.
