October 17, 2024 - Northwestern Colorado - Crews replace culvert at Badger Creek, 10 miles west of the CO 134 junction

Grand County - On Monday, Oct. 21, crews will perform week-long maintenance operations to replace a culvert on US Highway 40 between Steamboat Springs and Kremmling. Work will take place at Mile Point 167, approximately one mile east of County Road 282. Motorists will encounter up to 20 minute delays, full stops and 24/7 one-lane alternating traffic. Maintenance operations will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. however, a temporary traffic signal will guide one-way alternating traffic after hours.

Traffic Impacts

Vehicles will be guided by flagging personnel and signs during daylight hours
A temporary traffic signal will be in place to guide motorists after hours
A speed reduction of 40 mph will be enforced through the work zones

Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
