Passing lane construction on US 40 in Grand County begins May 13
Travel Advisory
Grand County — The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin passing lane construction work on May 13. Work will take place along US Highway 40 between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs.
This passing lane project will occur on US 40 just north of Wolford Mountain Reservoir, Mile Point 172 to MP 173. Project completion is expected in early October. Capital Paving and Construction, of Englewood, is the contractor for this project.
The construction of passing lanes will allow for safer transportation of commercial/freight trucks, motorists and cyclists on this busy corridor by providing a stretch of highway with space and opportunity for faster vehicles to safely pass slower moving traffic.
The project is part of CDOT’s 10-year plan for improvements in Grand County.
