Concrete panel replacement begins July 22 on I-76 between Iliff and Crook Interchanges
Travel Advisory
Logan County - The Colorado Department of Transportation and Castle Rock Construction will begin a concrete panel replacement and diamond grinding project beginning July 22 on I-76 from the Crook interchange (Mile Point 149) to two miles west of the Iliff interchange (MP 134).
The anticipated completion date is November 2025.
The initial phase will begin at the Crook interchange and involves constructing several westbound to eastbound crossover detours to facilitate head-to-head traffic. This configuration will ensure crew safety and minimize disruptions to traffic flow during construction. Once crossovers are in place, crews will begin the westbound concrete panel replacement, mainline paving, diamond grinding and sawing and sealing. Concrete panels that are cracked, broken and not seated properly will be replaced to mitigate further road deterioration.
The Crook Bridge will undergo further enhancements. The bridge's roadway will be milled, overlaid, and guardrails will be replaced. Construction will pause for the winter in mid-November, and the remaining work will resume in May 2025 after the winter shutdown.
Other improvements will include new sign replacements and final striping for improved safety.
Travel Impacts
- Daytime work hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend work may occur, if necessary.

- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph at the crossover zones. It will be 65 mph throughout the remainder of the construction zone.
- Construction trucks will be entering and exiting the work zone
