CDOT will remove the Farmington Hill traffic signal Thursday evening

July 24, 2024 - Southwestern Colorado - Plan for full stops and lengthy delays between Durango and Three Springs beginning at 7 p.m.

La Plata County - Beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, CDOT will dismantle the traffic signal located east of Durango at the base of Farmington Hill. Motorists should plan for extended wait times and intermittent traffic holds on US Highway 160 between Home Depot and the new US 550 - US 160 Grandview Interchange.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., as operations cannot be completed above live traffic.

  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
  • Be patient!
