I-25/US 50B Interchange in Pueblo

Dec. 16, 2024 - Southeast Colorado - Northbound I-25 Frontage Road closed starting today

Pueblo County — The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contractor partner SEMA Construction will close the northbound Interstate 25 Exit 100A off-ramp to the North Freeway Frontage Road to US Highway today, Dec. 13, to set temporary barriers to support construction as part of the I-25 and US 50B Interchange Project.

Traffic Impacts for frontage road closure

  • There will be a 24/7 closure on North Frontage Road from Northbound I-25 off-ramp to US 50B to set barriers to support the construction of the new bridges and reconstruction of the new collector-distributor road
  • North Frontage Road detour will be in place:
    • To access the North Frontage Road, motorists will need to use the Northbound I-25 Exit 100B off-ramp to 29th Street and go south on Dillon Drive
    • Variable message boards, signs and construction devices will be present to alert motorists of the road closure, detour route and other restrictions
    • Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change

General Traffic Impacts

Motorists and area residents can expect the following impacts during construction:

  • Single lane closures, ramp closures and shoulder closures will take place within the work zone
  • Working hours will generally be 30 minutes after sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset, Monday through Friday
  • Reduced speeds in the work zone will be in place
  • Plan ahead and expect delays

  • The project is scheduled for completion in early summer 2027

  • Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
  • Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
