CO 141 opened early Tuesday afternoon between Gateway and Naturita

Travel Advisory

August 13, 2024 - Southwestern Colorado - Crews will perform operations to reinforce material at the base the bridge structure

Montrose and Mesa Counties - Colorado Highway 141 between Gateway and Naturita opened to travel in both directions just before noon on Tuesday, August 13. CDOT engineers and contractor Engineering Operations, LLC (eO) completed inspections earlier this morning and determined the structure is stable and there were no major structural concerns from recent storm runoff.

Motorists will experience brief delays, 40 mph speed reductions and single-lane alternating traffic over Mesa Creek (Mile Point 85.6) through next week. Maintenance crews will perform operations to replace rock material at the base of the bridge piers.

The closure was originally implemented on Monday morning, August 12 about 15 miles south of Gateway and 22 miles north of Naturita when erosion from recent storms was observed and created concern for travel over the bridge.
