CO 141 is closed between Gateway and Naturita

Montrose and Mesa Counties - CO Highway 141 between Gateway and Naturita is closed both northbound and southbound directions. The closure is located at the bridge over Mesa Creek, about 15 miles south of Gateway and 22 miles north of Naturita, mile point 85.6. The closure was implemented this morning at 10:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12.
Erosion from recent storms is a concern for travel over the bridge. An inspection of the structure will be conducted beginning tomorrow and stabilization of the bridge piers may be required.

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.
- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
