CDOT performs guardrail repair on US 24 beginning Monday, Nov. 6
Travel Advisory
El Paso and Teller Counties— Beginning Monday, the Colorado Department of Transportation will perform nighttime guardrail repairs to US 24 in the eastbound lanes from mile point 294 to 297. Motorists traveling eastbound should allow themselves extra travel time due to slower speeds and limited lanes throughout the work zone (Nov. 6 through 9). Travelers should use extreme caution as this stretch of highway has several curves with short sight distance.
Traffic Impacts
Beginning November 6, motorists will encounter road work in the eastbound lanes of US 24 between MP 294 and 297:
- Nighttime work hours range from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Friday
- Traffic will be detoured to keep one eastbound lane of traffic open
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone
- The project is expected to be completed by Nov. 9
