May 5, 2023 - Denver/Central Colorado - I-76 will be fully closed this weekend starting Friday night, May 5 at 9 p.m. and reopening Sunday, May 7 at 9 p.m.

Adams County — Westbound Interstate 76 will be fully closed between Federal and Sheridan boulevards this weekend starting Friday night, May 5 at 9 p.m. and reopening Sunday, May 7 at 9 p.m. This full closure is for repaving along this stretch of I-76, which will lead to a smoother and safer driving surface.

Traffic Impacts

  • Full closure of westbound I-76 between Federal and Sheridan boulevards from Friday, May 5 at 9 p.m. to Sunday, May 7 at 9 p.m.
  • Motorists should plan for ten minutes of extra travel time during the day. Delays are anticipated to be minimal at night.
  • Detour for westbound I-76 travelers: Exit at Federal Boulevard and turn right, turn left on 64th Avenue to Sheridan Boulevard, and turn left on Sheridan to re-enter I-76.

  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
