CO 170 culvert replacement project to begin March 13
Project Update
Boulder County – Culvert replacement work is expected to begin at Colorado Highway 170 and Marshall Road on March 13. Tricon 2 LLC has been selected for this project, with work expected to be completed in May.
Crews will begin placing signs along the project on March 6 along CO 170 from milepoint .6 to MP 3.3, and work will begin on March 13. Work consists of replacing a culvert with wing walls underneath the roadway and excavating and patching asphalt along the highway.
Work will generally take place Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the intersection, with construction crews utilizing single lane closures and shoulder closures along CO 170 and Marshall Road. 24-hour single lane closures will be in effect utilizing traffic signals. Alternative routes along US 36 are advised.

- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
