Motorists should expect slower speeds and and lane closures on US 160 near Farmington Hill next week

Durango — Beginning June 13, the Colorado Department of Transportation will perform maintenance in the center median near the junction of US 160 and US 550, just east of Home Depot. Motorists traveling through the Farmington Hill intersection should anticipate congestion and slower speeds between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 13 through Thursday, June 15.
Motorists traveling eastbound from Durango will encounter lane shifts. Crews will attempt to keep traffic moving through the work zone however, significant congestion can be expected due to limited lanes available.
Traffic Impacts
Operations will take place on June 13 through June 15. Daytime work hours will range from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Motorists should expect slower speeds, lane shifts and delays
- Travelers should allow themselves extra travel time
- A speed reduction of 40 mph will be enforced through the work zone
- Motorists are urged to watch for workers and their equipment, slow down and drive with extreme caution

- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
