Tuesday and Wednesday motorists can expect delays on CO 145 near Mountain Village

June 5, 2023 - Southwestern Colorado - paving operations to be conducted on a short section of CO 145 on June 6 and 7

San Miguel County— The Colorado Department of Transportation is paving a short section of CO 145 on June 6 and 7. Operations will take place between Mountain Village Boulevard and the intersection of Society Drive, Milepoints 69.5 to 71. Daytime work hours will range from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CDOT crews will work as swiftly as possible to complete the surface treatment however resurfacing operations are weather dependent.

Traffic Impacts

  • Motorists can expect full stops and up to 30-minute delays and should allow for extra travel time.
  • Vehicles will be guided by flagging personnel.
  • Access in and out of intersections may be restricted at times.
  • A speed reduction of 40 mph will be enforced through the work zones.

Motorists will encounter flaggers and one-lane alternating traffic June 6 and 7 while CDOT performs maintenance operations on CO 145 between Mountain Village and the Conoco gas station.

  • Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
  • Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
  • Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
