Temporary Closure of Colorado City Rest Area
Travel Advisory
Colorado City – The Colorado City Rest Area, at the I-25/CO 165 Interchange, will be closed for repairs for two weeks, beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 6 a.m.
It reopens on Wednesday, Aug. 23, by 5 p.m.
A closure is necessary since the water will be shutoff for plumbing repairs. The sidewalks, courtyard and landscaping also will be upgraded while the area is closed.
This rest area also is a stop on the Colorado Department of Transportation's Bustang Outrider route between Trinidad and Pueblo. Buses will skip this stop during the closure, traveling non-stop between Walsenburg and Pueblo.
For southbound travelers, the El Moro Rest Area is open, just north of Trinidad (Exit 17).
