Travel Advisory

September 2, 2022 - Northeastern Colorado - Crews will close CR 37 between CO 52 and CR 14 on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 7 a.m.

Weld County – The Colorado Department of Transportation and AB Underground are closing County Road 37 north of Colorado Highway 52 for approximately four weeks to reduce the overall construction schedule for an intersection safety improvement project underway at CO 52 and CR 37.

Crews will close CR 37 between CO 52 and CR 14 on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 7 a.m. Access to immediately adjacent properties will be maintained. The signed detour route uses CR 22 and CR 41 to bypass the work zone. CR 37 is expected to reopen on or before Oct. 4.

When complete, this project will add left-turn lanes on all intersection approaches in addition to a right-turn lane from eastbound CO 52 to southbound CR 37. New culverts and roadside ditches are part of the project. The work zone will be resurfaced with asphalt, and signing and striping upgrades will enhance safety and visibility.

AB Underground was awarded a 3.1-million contract to construct the intersection improvements. CO 52 will remain open during construction. Project completion is anticipated in December 2022.

Frequent traffic shifts and lane closures are expected. Drivers should expect trucks entering and exiting the work zone. Temporary rough driving surfaces may be present. The work zone speed limit is reduced to 45 mph and an oversize vehicle width restriction of 10 feet is in place.

General work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional extended hours and weekend work. Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Weekly updates are available on the project web page. Any changes to the road closure schedule will be posted on message boards at either end of the work zone.
