Periodic traffic stops planned this week for rockfall maintenance work on westbound I-70 at Georgetown
Travel Advisory
Clear Creek County ― Traffic holds are planned for rock scaling operations on westbound I-70 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday - Thursday, November 8 - 10. Westbound travel will be impacted during these times with intermittent traffic stops and delays. Westbound motorists can avoid delays by planning their trips before and after the traffic holds. No impacts to eastbound travel planned at this time.
The scaling is a proactive measure to remove the rocks, preventing a potential rockfall. Road closures must occur during daytime hours because the rock scaling crews need the daylight and visibility to do their work and clear debris should it fall onto the road.
The schedule is subject to change depending on the weather.
