LCR 14 closed for bridge work Thursday; WCR 46 temporary full closure rescheduled for I-25 North Express Lanes Project

Larimer and Weld County — Thursday, Nov. 10, 9:15 p.m. to 5 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation and the I-25 North Express Lanes Project will set a full closure of Larimer County Road 14 under I-25 to erect new bridge girders. The northbound I-25 right lane will also be closed during this time.
- Westbound LCR 14 traffic will take the eastern Frontage Road north to E. County Road 16, turn around and take the western Frontage Road south to continue westbound on LCR 14.
- Eastbound LCR 14 traffic will take the western Frontage Road north to E. County Road 16, turn around and take the eastern Frontage Road south to continue eastbound on LCR 14.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the closure of Weld County Road 46, east of I-25 is rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:00 a.m. to Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 5 p.m. This closure will allow crews to trench across the roadway to install water and drainage pipes. Please follow posted signage in the area for detours. Construction is weather-dependent and subject to change.
- Westbound WCR 46 traffic will take Colorado Boulevard south to County Road 44/Colorado Highway 56, or north to Colorado Highway 60. Traffic will turn and travel west to County Road 7, and rejoin WCR 46.
- Eastbound WCR 46 traffic will take County Road 7 south to CO 56/WCR 44, or north to CO 60. Traffic will turn and travel east to Colorado Boulevard, and rejoin WCR 46.

The I-25 North Express Lanes Project: Berthoud to Johnstown section will increase highway capacity by adding an Express Lane in each direction, rebuild interchanges, replace aging bridges, straighten highway curves to improve safety, make major utility and drainage improvements, and add carpool and transit facilities. During construction on the I-25 North Express Lanes Project, motorists should expect speed reductions to 65 mph, minor lane shifts, temporary concrete barriers and median bridge work. Motorists should also expect delays during the scheduled work hours. Construction on the Berthoud to Johnstown segment is expected to be complete in 2024.

The following tips are to help you stay safe while traveling through maintenance and construction work zones.
- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
